Dear Parents of Willard Central Students,
We hope you all are enjoying this beautiful summer with your family! As we begin to prepare for the 2013-2014 school year, we would like to verify your child’s return to us in August. Please ONLY respond to this email if one of the following applies to you:
A) Moved to different address in the Willard District
B) Moved entirely out of our district
C) Will not be attending Willard Central Elementary this school year
If any of these apply to your student, please email me back at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have questions about a change of address, please don’t hesitate to call our office at 417-831-4440. We are currently available Monday through Thursday 8:00-4:00 pm and Friday 8:00-12:00.
As a reminder, welcome back letters from your child’s teacher will be mailed August 2nd. You will also be able to access your student’s information through the Parent Portal after this date. Due to privacy rights and student confidentiality, class rosters will no longer be posted on the school doors. Meet the Teacher Night and our PTO BBQ is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13th from 6:00-7:30 pm. We are looking forward to seeing each of you then and we will be ready to welcome students back to their first day of school on Thursday, August 15th.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Willard Central has enjoyed a great year! From the implementation of The Willard Way Positive Behavior Support program to our unforgettable MAP music video, it has been a memorable school year. Thank you to our PTO for a wonderful year as well. We had a successful Back-to-School BBQ and a great Spring Carnival. Thanks to our PTO’s efforts, we have purchased headphones for student computers/iPads, classroom library books, student t-shirts, a “GaGA Pit” for the playground and much more. (A GaGa Pit is a miniature dodgeball arena and WC favorite Coach Brown has introduced to our students.)
WC welcomed several new faces to our team and as the year draws to an end, we want to wish a few of our WC colleagues the best as they start a new adventure. Christy Pyle will be moving to WN as a Title I Reading Teacher. Janet Turner will be focusing her efforts as a process coordinator at WS. Nurse Tammy Dock will be transferring to the HS as she continues her service as the District’s Head Nurse. Jamie Jeffries will be leaving the computer lab position to have her own classroom in Bolivar. We wish each of them the very best and blessings in their new endeavors. Each of these ladies are loved by students and staff alike and they will be greatly missed!
As we look ahead to the coming school year, our theme will be “Wild About Learning”. We are looking forward to another great year, new friends and a “wild” learning adventure. Have a relaxing and safe summer and keep reading!
Congratulations to Coach Brown for being named the 2012-2013 WC Teacher of the Year! Coach Brown works tirelessly to strengthen our students’ physical bodies as well as their character. Her efforts in facilitating our Willard Way Team and the implementation of this schoolwide positive behavioral support program this year has helped our students be respectful, responsible and ready to learn. Coach Brown also does an amazing job organizing great activities for our students like Bike Safety, Heart Health Obstacle Course and Field Day. She is simply amazing!
One of the nominations for Mrs. Sherry Rush as the Staff Member of the Year said that she is the glue that holds WC together. Ms. Sherry is a blessing to all she comes in contact with. She helps students, staff members and parents with a smile while keeping the principal in line! She is gracious and has a wonderful gift of hospitality in making WC such an inviting place to be. She is a joy to work with!
Due to inclement weather, Field Day has been rescheduled for THURSDAY, MAY 23RD. Please remember to send students in clothes and shoes that can get wet, muddy and maybe even stained. It will be a memorable day for all!
