PTO Newsletter – September 2012

Dear Willard Central Community,

Welcome back to a new school year. I hope everyone had a good, safe summer and tried to stay cool. The Back-to-School BBQ was a big hit. Approximately 1100 people attended. I would like to thank all the parents for their help. I would especially want to thank all of the kids who worked the snow cone machine. Thank you all so much.

The fundraiser this year will be The Chip Shoppe (formerly Mr. Z’s). They will have similar products as from the past. It will be nice if every student could sell 12 items to help meet our PTO goal.  Here is the prize breakdown:

  • Sell 10 items to earn a PASS to the Big Blast Party!! Families from the same household who sell 15 items can earn a family pass.
  • Sell 20 items and earn Mr. Medlin’s surprise!!
  • Sell 30 items and earn a VIP LIMO RIDE AND PIZZA.
  • Sell 50 items and earn a Bonus Prize to Castle Rock Indoor Water Park Resort!!

Look for the fundraiser packets coming home on the 12th!


Willard Central classes compete monthly to earn points. It is easy to participate and help earn money for our school.  All you have to do is cut out Box Tops. If your child brings them to school ready for submission, they are worth double points. The winning class wins a POPSICLE PARTY!!!   Please visit for cutting instructions.  Soup labels must have the upc code for the vendor to accept them. The money and points earned through these are used to purchase materials for Coach Brown and other school items.

We are also collecting Sunny D labels with UPC codes on them.  Please give them to your teacher to earn FREE BOOKS for the classroom. For every 20 Sunny D labels, we get 20 free books.  All shrink-wrapped packs and bottles 6.75 oz or larger are eligible. The program ends November 30, 2012.
