Winter is here and with it comes the perfect weather for snuggling up inside with a great book! Research shows that students who read at least 20 minutes each day outside of the school setting are more successful on standardized tests and their academics. Additionally, children who have been read to consistently at home are more likely to read on grade level and have a positive attitude toward learning. Take advantage of the short daylight hours by cuddling up with your kids and a great book. The investment is timeless!
After you finish solving the mystery of Who Stole the Wizard of Oz? for our all-school book club, join us on Thursday, December 9th from 6:00-7:00 for our Family Reading Night. We will enjoy activities based off the story and your child’s name can be entered for gift cards for Border’s book store for attending.
Keep reading and stay warm this weekend! ~ Shane Medlin, Principal
