2009-2010 was a SUPER school year at Willard Central. The memories of students learning, laughing and growing together is one our students and staff will cherish. This was a year of beginnings as we welcomed students from Willard North and Willard East to Central after rezoning. While change can be scary for us all, the students, staff and families of WC embraced this new chapter of our school’s history to make a truly successful and memorable year! From the PTO Back to School BBQ to playing superheroes (in tights!) to the 2nd grade café day and all the way up to Field Day, it has been a remarkable year we will not soon forget!
This year also marked the end of an era as Mrs. JoAnn Peterson retired from our school district. Her love and dedication to students and the profession is a testament to her faith and extraordinary character. Mrs. Peterson served 24 years in the Willard School District without ever taking a single sick day! This is the single most amazing accomplishment I can account for in my lifetime!! Mrs. Peterson is a real-life superhero, legend, and role model for all she meets. It has been an honor to work with her and learn from her. Willard Central has been blessed to have Mrs. Peterson grace our hallways and classrooms. To say she will be missed is a gross understatement, but we wish her the absolute best in her new adventures!
Remember, “With great power comes great responsibility!” Our desire is that all WC students Dare to be Heroic and be the Heroes we know they were destined to be! Enjoy the summer break with family and friends! Keep reading and stay safe! ~Shane Medlin, Principal
