It has been a Terrific Tiger Week of Celebration at WC! During Community Time, we recognized students and community members for all of their hard work during the 3rd quarter. On Thursday, we recognized Mrs. Jill Baker as our Everyday Hero for all of her efforts in putting together our school yearbook and PTO newsletters. The grand finale of the week was Friday as our special area teachers presented the traveling superhero cape awards to the classes who best represented our Character Education traits this quarter.
It was also a busy week of learning at WC. The 2nd grade students traveled to Fantastic Caverns to get some hands-on learning in science. The 1st grade students presented their music program Tiki, Tiki Tembo. They did a fantastic job sharing this Chinese folktale and beloved children’s book set to music. A special thank you to Mrs. Chatman and the 1st grade students for a job well done! 3rd and 4th grade students continued their hard work with the PUSH program as they prepare for the upcoming MAP test in April. The teachers will be doing their part to continue modeling life-long learning in our Professional Development meetings on Friday afternoon. The focus of the afternoon will be on the integration of technology into the classroom as part of our district’s technology initiative.
After all of this learning and a long winter season, our students and teachers are eager for spring break and a chance to rest their tired brains! Enjoy the break with family and friends. We will see everyone recharged and ready to learn on March 29th.
