2nd Grade Restaurant

2nd grade students combined their knowledge of math and language arts skills with economics lessons to put on their annual student run cafe last week. They did a great job applying these skills to a real world experience while getting the chance to serve their family and friends a fun lunch. Enjoy some of these highlights.

Grandparents’ Day and Fine Arts Night

Thanks to everyone for a great Grandparents’ Day and Fine Arts Night. We had over 300 grandparents join our students today. All had a great time with loved ones and sharing some school day memories. (Many kids also were spoiled at the Book Fair thanks to their grandparents!)

It was also a great evening at Fine Arts Night. A special thank you to Mrs. Mello in displaying all of the students’ artwork. The walls and hallways were packed with students’ products on display. Our students also showed their musical talents with the help of Mrs. Chatman. Grade levels performed songs together and our 4th grade students shared their individual talents as well. Mrs. Roth had the Book Fair running in full force. Thank you to all of our parents and families for coming out and supporting our students. We had more than 800 guests join us for a great evening!

PTO Carnival was a Success!

Thanks to all of our families who came out to support WC at the Carnival! A good time was had by all! A special thank you to Coach Brown and Mr. Andy for joining me in taking the plunge into the COLD dunk tank! (We hope everyone has regained feeling in their fingers and toes by Monday!) Also, a HUGE thank you to TIna Tutor, Tonya Michaels, Susie McMillan, Carrie Key, Cary Swadley, Stacey Burks, Deanna Crawford, their families and all of the other volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the carnival a success! (I apologize if I have forgotten anyone…blame it on the hypothermia!) WC is a blessed place to be because of the wonderful support from our students and families!

PTO Carnival Saturday, April 27th

We are praying the rain clears out for our PTO Carnival Festivities tomorrow afternoon. The Carnival will be from 4-6pm. Come enjoy games, inflatables, a dunk tank and much more. Concession food (pizza, corndogs, chips, cookies…) will be on sale as well. Raffle basket tickets will be on display and on sale for $1 each. Game/inflatable bracelets will $8. Thank you for coming out and supporting our school and PTO!

Theme Baskets Galore!

Here is a sneak preview of all of the amazing theme baskets the PTO will be raffling off at this Saturday’s school carnival…students are selling raffle tickets (6 for $5) so be sure to get yours now! Our PTO Carnival will be taking place Saturday afternoon, April 27th, from 4:00-6:00.

WCE Pride

Willard Central Students have been busy “Reaching for the Stars” the past 2 weeks. Last week, Kindergarten students impressed their family and friends with their music program, The Wide Mouthed Frog. The show was a success and enjoyed by all! As our current Kindergarten students were shining last week, we welcomed incoming Kindergarten students to WC with our Kindergarten screening. We had many excited faces and ready for their school adventure to start!

This week, students have been busy preparing for MAP testing next week. We wrapped up our after-school PUSH program on Thursday with some well-deserved rest, relaxation, ice cream and dodgeball. Thank you to our students and parents for your extra support and commitment helping our students stay and get build that momentum for testing next week!

Our PTO Carnival will be taking place next Saturday afternoon, April 27th, from 4:00-6:00. Please join us for all of the festivities! Students have started selling raffle basket items (6 for $5) and we will have game and inflatable wrist bands for $5 ($8 at the door). Concessions stands will be open for meal and snack items as well. We hope to see you there and we still have openings for volunteers who would like to help with the fun.
